A Chateau Vista Show Jumpers alumni: An amateur's dream with true American Thoroughbred grit

Our mare Striking Blondie is by the graded stakes winning Texas based stallion Chief Three Sox. Chief Three Sox earned a total of $353,620 in his career earnings out of 44 starts. Of Richey and Strode Racing Stables LLC, Chief was bred by Don M. Clark and for the majority of his racing career he was trained by Jodie Hodges. Chief Three Sox is by the sire Chief Honcho and out of a well-bred Thoroughbred mare by Our Native.

Some of his racing statistics include: At the age of 3 Chief Won Allen Bogan Memorial S.(R)(O), 2nd Airline S.(O), 3rd Longhorn Sprint S.(R)(O), Conroe S.(O) At 4 Chief Won Crescent S.(L), Alliance H.(O), 2nd Star of Texas S.(R)(O), Premier S.(R)(O), Chick Lang Jr. Memorial H.(O), 3rd Ark-La-Tex H.(G3), Edmond H.(L), Assault S.(R)(O). At 5 Chief Won Texas Hall Of Fame S.(R)(O), Chick Lang Jr. Memorial H.(O), 3rd Maxxam Gold Cup H.(L), Premiere S.(R)(O). Currently Chief Three Sox stands at stud in his home state of Texas at Stoneview Farm, Hempstead TX. Through his progeny we see very specific features and of course his trademark color and chrome. That being said, Chief Three Sox's blood and type live on as well we see  in his daughter, our mare, Striking Blondie.

Striking Blondie aka "Vienna" is a 5 year old sorrel Thoroughbred mare standing 15.2hh. Vienna is swift over fences and is always super careful. The heart in this little mare is extremely large as she always wants to please. Vienna has show experience in the ring as a wonderful child/adult mount with numerous champions/reserves and can be seen on our local circuits. Striking Blondie displays her willing attitude and type with total athleticism and blood just like her sire, Chief Three Sox. Being an all-around mare, "Vienna" has been in all three rings and has tri-colors regionally in hunters, jumpers, and equitation with many riders. Striking Blondie has her fathers ways that of a blood type sport horse which adds to the enhancement of future generations of sport jumping stock. Every program needs a little more blood in their stock and this sire brings just that topped off with a kind and willing attitude like we see in our mare "Vienna."

Blondie as she is also fondly called, was originally a part of our Chateau Vista Show Jumpers string and was out on leases under many of the regional trainers in the Midwest. Putting in her time we are so happy to be able to give her a holiday here at Chateau Vista Farm, LLC after she has served us and all of her wonderful riders for over four years off-site. This beloved little mare has touched the lives of many. We are so happy to be able to have the blessing of owning mares, like her, who year after year touch the lives of everyone they come into contact with with her consistent fortitude and determination despite her smaller stature. What a true privilege it is to own such a willing mare as this one, with the biggest heart of gold. For more information on our Chateau Vista Show Jumpers program click on the link above or below. Striking Blondie has been sold see more information about her on our References page under our program site Chateau Vista Show Jumpers.
